On ne peut pas trouver un nombre x réel tel que x² = -16 car si x est positif alors x² est positif et si x est négatif alors x² est positif.

b)

x² = 0

x = √0 ou x = - √0

x = 0

c)

x² = 7

x² - 7 = 7 - 7

x² - 7 = 0

x² - 7 = x² - (√7)² = (x - √7)(x + √7) #Identité remarquable: a² - b² = (a - b)(a + b)

Donc,

x² - 7 = 0

(x - √7)(x + √7) = 0

x = √7 ou x = - √7
